My goal with CranioSacral Therapy is to help people find whole-being wellness. I like to tell people that my job is helping folks live happier, healthier lives. That pretty much sums up my heart’s desire and the reason that I do what I do.
When the day is going well, and I’m in the zone, out of the way, neutral, and holding a safe space for whatever needs to unfold for the person on my treatment table, listening with my hands to the tissue as it reveals the strain patterns and past experiences that have been stored up in the body – stories written but not read – I begin to notice the softening of body. The breathing deepens, sighs are released, tissue softens, and the person drifts into their own inner world to find whatever truth it holds that needs brought to light, released, or understood. Sometimes its quite conscious. Other times, the body and the non-conscious have a good long visit while the person is softly held in a place of non-awareness or blissful observation. It’s deeply relaxing and spiritually refreshing.
When I am witnessing the dropping away of the material awareness and the entering into the deep, subtle essence of being, then I know that I have done my job.
And that is enough. That is a great joy.
